A 2008 Kaiser Family Foundation survey found that 56 p.c of uninsured women did not obtain needed care because of value, while only 13 p.c of ladies with health insurance cited cost as a barrier to receiving the care that they needed. Kaiser also concludes that girls without insurance coverage coverage often obtain a decrease standard of care and have poorer health than those who have insurance coverage. Alzheimer’s illness disproportionately impacts women—two-thirds of adults age 65 or older with the disease are women, and 60 percent of the almost 15 million Americans who provide unpaid caregiving to an individual with Alzheimer’s are women.
